Daffodil International University (DIU; Bengali: ড্যাফোডিল আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a private university located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The original campus is located at Dhanmondi and the permanent campus is located in Daffodil Smart City, Khagan, Ashulia, Savar which is in Dhaka district. It was established on 24 January 2002 under the Private University Act of 1992 which was replaced by Private University Act 2010. According to QS University Rankings: Asia 2021, DIU is a top-ranked private university among all the universities in Bangladesh. DIU placed 1st among universities ranked from Bangladesh in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021.DIU is the first university in Bangladesh to have signed the UN's Commitment to Sustainable Practices of Higher Education Institutions.According to the SCOPUS indexed research publications in 2019, Daffodil International University has been positioned 4th among all universities and 1st among all private universities in Bangladesh.
The university was established on 24 January 2002 with the approval of the University Grants Commission (Bangladesh) and the Government of Bangladesh's Ministry of Education under the Private University Act of 1992 which was replaced by Private University Act 2010.
The original campus is located at Dhanmondi and the permanent campus is located in Daffodil Smart City, Khagan, Ashulia, Savar which is in Dhaka district. The university campus covers about 125 acres of land with playgrounds, auditorium, basketball court, food court, gymnasium, swimming pool, innovation lab, artificial fountain, golf course, hostel, staff quarter, and other facilities.
We are providing a secure and convenient living facility for our students. DIU dormitories are a home away from home.To make the student’s life easier and safe, we are providing 50+ buses from different points of Dhaka city Under the ‘One student one laptop’ project, DIU has distributed over 25000 free laptops among the student.
To engage students in learning after face-to-face classes, our faculty members and students collaborate in the online.Blended Learning Center is the digital teaching and learning hub of Daffodil International University. The platform aims to connect teachers and students effectively allowing teachers to track progress of individual students and better facilitate their learning.
